The pomegranate’s skin is thick and inedible, yet inside are hundreds of edible seeds. Each seed is encased in an aril, which is a scarlet, juicy, and tasty seed covering.
The edible parts of the fruit are the seeds and arils, which can be eaten raw or processed into pomegranate juice, but the peel is discarded.
